Blast from the Past
Yesterday we had our event for our pastor’s wives and our ladies on staff. It was Blast from the Past night.
Everyone picked costumes to represent any decade they liked. They looked amazing!
We played a game testing out everyone’s memory of old TV shows and movies. They remembered everything from Gunsmoke to all of the 90210 gang. I was shocked that I was the only one with loads of useless knowledge about “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.” For instance, does anyone else remember the guy’s name who came from the future to help Bill and Ted?
Then we … shocking but true … danced through the decades. Nothing like a little disco to really cement bonding. And you would be surprised at how much of the Thriller dance some people still remember.
To end the night, we had a Hula-Hoop smack down. Has anyone tried to Hula-hoop lately? It is way harder than I remember. In fact, I was terrible.
Of course, food, prizes and laughter were in abundance. I had a great time with all of the ladies. I hope they did too. Next event will be in January/February, but until then … enjoy these pictures:
Circa 1900 and 1940 (yep, that’s me)
1950s: The Pink Ladies
Lucy and June Cleaver
1960s
1970s
1980s
