Murder Mystery Night
Posted by Lori
Every few months, I get together with our Pastors Wives and ladies on staff at Central.
We’ve Raced, and we’ve Blasted from the Past. And Monday night we put our detective caps on and did a little mystery solving. The mystery: Who killed King Henry VIII?
Our mystery was set in a library, so we each became different literary characters. I, of course, was Elinor from Sense and Sensibility because Jane Austen + Hugh Grant = pure deliciousness.
But I digress.
To top it off, we had beautiful chocolate fountains and prizes. Because it can’t really be a fun party without chocolate and prizes. Am I right?!
But best of all, we just got to be together. We laughed and chatted. And hopefully they felt valued and appreciated.
We have the best staff and staff wives out there! Love you ladies!
Now, on to planning our next event. Any ideas?

We can live without prizes, but not without chocolate.
In my opinion

So glad you could make it Kim! Glad you won!
And Laura Anne … I thought you didn’t like our American chocolate! But I bet you would have liked my prize.

@Lori – well, chocolate is still chocolate. A necessity in life, but it is true that I believe European made chocolate is far superior to North American or Australian chocolate (I think they put some extra ingredient in chocolate in Aus to stop it melting or something…anyway, it makes it taste a bit weird and plasticky).
My American friends who have lived in Scotland for a time (and now back in good ol’ USA) were very upset to hear Kraft took over Cadbury’s too.
A lot of us send Cadbury’s over, as I think the Cadbury’s bars in USA are made by Hershey’s but aren’t quite as nice as true British Cadbury’s.
Ok, a very long comment, but it comes to chocolate I take things VERY VERY seriously. lol

(and that isn’t to say that I think one continent/ country is better than the other. Because UK bagels SUCK most of the time compared to US ones. And though I’m a British/Scottish lassie I do think the best chocolate is to be found in Belgium or Switzerland….tis truly yummy!!!)

I know this is such an old post but had to comment… Cadbury was taken over by Hershey and I have mourned ever since. In 8th grade my parents visited Scotland and brought back the real thing…
I mourn the loss of good chocolate. That’s all… it’s a crying shame…
I have found Black & Green (I think or Green/Brown or some color combo…) that are heavenly and quality too.
My mom and I were just discussing our chocolate snobbery yesterday which is why I felt the need to comment and now I’ll probably post on the subject…

Green & Blacks is AMAZING (but a lil bit pricey unless it’s on sale). Lindt chocolate is pretty yummy too.
